Changelog

New features, improvements, and fixes in Marky.

August 2026

Free trials, published accuracy and per-department billing

  • New Free 3-day trial: Covers 10 papers from any class or subject. The three days start when the first paper is uploaded, not when the account is set up, so a trial cannot expire before a department has anything to mark.
  • New Published accuracy figures: Marking measured against a verified examiner across 3,276 question sections: 99.8% of marks within two of the examiner, 98.9% within one, and 92.4% identical. Method and per-cohort breakdown on the accuracy page.
  • New Subjects and Accuracy pages: Full pages covering what is marked at each level for every UK exam board, and how the accuracy figures are counted.
  • New Dark mode across the site: Follows a saved preference, with a toggle in the navigation.
  • New Chemistry marking: Chemistry joins Maths, Biology and Physics at GCSE, AS and A-Level.
  • Improved Per-department billing: Paper allowances are bought and invoiced per department, where the budgets are held. Per-teacher seats and bundles have been retired.
  • Improved Top-ups from 30 papers: The minimum top-up drops from 250 papers to 30, one class set, at the same £1.20 per paper.
  • Improved Photographs upload directly: JPG, PNG, HEIC and WEBP are accepted with no conversion to PDF, up to 200 MB per file or a ZIP for a whole set.
